Model

1, Free-To-Play

Almost all browser games allows players to play for free. Taking full advantages, the largest browser developer Bigpoint has already managed to create a base of 85.579.403 players worldwide so far.  This model, in the first period, is to try to bring as many as players who are able to have free access to the game.

2, Premium Account

The business model is based on the premise that a portion of those players attracted by free-to-play model will pay for a premium account. While accessing the game by free to play notion, some players may find the game interesting and fun. It is more likely followed by a wave of purchase of premium accounts, which will give players more opportunities to have fun and explore more features and instances. Like GameForge’s business model, their games are based on Premium Account.

3,Banner ads

Banner ads is an online advertising measure to make money, but it, more often than not, does not work well and it has been summarized as an ineffective way of financing. This model is also based on free to play model, but those non-premium players can also help to contribute the games by clicking the banners.

4,Virtual Currency

For western developers, they may not find this model lucrative and profitable. However, Chinese developers are all fighting for such business model. They often dig player’s psychology and find most of players who would like to pay for the game prefer to pay for the Virtual Currency and the players find it a best and fastest way to become No 1 in the game world.  This model has been proved to be a most effective way to make money. Like Evony, it become a marvel overnight.
