zOMG! would probably be one of the best games on this list if the Gaia staff acted like they cared about their users. Saying that the developers “listened” to our wants is the biggest overstatement about this game imaginable. We are given little to no say as a community in how this game develops unless we’re one of the few people the developers bother to talk to. Years ago, we asked for a battle system–to fight each other–yet we get one of the biggest glitch-fests in existence. It’s also being stripped down into a casual gaming mess that’s providing to be less than a challenge and more of a nuisance. You’re better off playing something else until this game gets straightened out. Enjoy your Skittles.
For someone like me who loves the casual atmosphere of Gaia I love zOMG.
@Kabuki: 1stly zOMG isn’t even at version 1.0 yet. It’s still in beta and it’s made it to 2nd place in this MMO list. Secondly, zOMG was meant to be a “casual gaming mess”. Technically it’s towns with action. More of a hangout than an MMO. 3rd, the devs do listen to the common users but only to the good suggestions. Suggesting that rings be unsoulbound just so you can make a quick buck is not something that’s gonna happen. Fourth, PvP is in the works and is expected to be released some time after world 2 is released later on this year. And finally the beta version of zOMG is for people who want to help zOMG to become a better game so that when version 1.0 comes out, people who jump in can have a more enjoyable time. If you don’t want to help to make zOMG better, just don’t play it until version 1.0 is released.
zomg is the beast im a 10.0 love the game you make good friends if your nice youll be able to find evil ones to but everyone will tell them to me nicer and to quit its just a lot of fun;)

You must be one of those hater gaians who complain about every little thing gaia does to improve itself. Gaia IS a hangout community just because some people decide to hang out on the game dosnt make it any less of a good game. Some people like to lay back and play a game. Not rush thorugh it and stuff. If your having a problem with it becoming a casual game…then GTFO and stop playing it but you dont have to come and bash on it like that. And why would gaia listen to EVERY SUGGESTION made if they listened to everybody and put all of their ideas into the game I bet it would be waaaaay worse than youre makin it look like. Gaia already has a plan set out for zOMG and they arent gonna change just because you cant have your way with it. Grow up
@Patrick I think you’re confused by the comment layout here… that was Kabuki who said that crap, not Kori… -_-; And zOMG! is the only MMO that’s actually held my interest and is fun to play, IMO.
zOMG is my favorite by far, the soundtrack is absolutely gorgeous and the art is nicely done too. It’s a nice casual game that allows you to make friends and still enjoy the game with little pressure.

I’ve been on gaia for almost 5 years and been through an ungodly amount of changes and glitches lost all my inventory few years back BUT the admins and developers always fixed the problem got everyone back in order and NEVER cheated people Zomg actually for a free game is amazing I’m in otami ruins i haven’t beaten it and i have been playing almost since Zomg was released to the public i think that the amazing creators of gaia are doing an amzing job considering that the game is free and we are allowed to play forever and they took so much care in to the game changing to better suit the players is amazing some games are made and never changed because the devlopers are stupid gaia evolves so does the games it has like Zomg True it may not be the greatest mmorpg but for FUCK SAKE ITS FREE AND I HAVEN’T FOUND A BETTER ONE SO BLAH

Honestly, zOMG! did deserve to be number one. I’ve never been a Runescape fan myself, but those I know who are, complain about it all the time.

There’s a lot more to do in Gaia other than zOMG. The forums are always friendly, they have towns you can visit(You can chat, collect gold, etc), game page/mini games(fishing, car racing/rally, etc), a cinema, jazz up your profile, and youtube.

Honestly played Runescape three days and it was damn near a after school daycare for tweeners then a mmo. I play PWI because it weeds out the ppl who just want to sit and hang out in chat and have a easy game to sail through. WoW is even worse if you want to get annoyed by chat and ppl that can’t actually go through large groups and areas that actually take some thought and work.
i played all of the browser based, and i can honestly say that heroes of gaia is the most rewarding. there alot too do and it is very fair, unlike travian where any highlevel person can attack you. check it out
