Simunomics is a text-based business simulation game. Players can build their own business, setting their own products, prices, research, advertising, expansion, and partners in a real-time, multi-player environment. It can be played in any javascript-enabled browser.
In Simunomics players purchase land, construct buildings on that land, produce products, and sell those products either to other players or to the public (who are controlled by the game). There are over 100 products to choose from, so focus is advised. For new players, it is strongly recommended to build a Retail Store first, buying products from the market and then marking them up to the public.
There are currently 3 cities in the Simunomics world (and more can always be added). The currency of the land is βucks, which are used to purchase products, buildings, and services. Additionally, tickets are bought with real world currency (dollars, euros, etc) and used to purchase game services, like upgrading to a Gold account.
In Simunomics, any value can change at any time. The most obvious changes are growing or shrinking economies, or the public paying less when there is more competition for a product. But other things can change too, making processes or business lines more or less expensive. Therefore there is no “perfect answer” how to get ahead. A successful player will watch for changes and adapt their strategy to match.
Features
Player Levels
Level is a quick measure of how far you’ve progressed in the game. It gives you a title to show your accomplishment.. Additionally, it unlocks different features of the game that aren’t available at the start.
Land & Buildings
It has been said that the three most important things in Real Estate are location, location, and location. Well picking the right land is a big part of Simunomics as well.
Products
The primary way to earn money (βucks) in Simunomics is to buy, sell, and create products. At present there are 85 products available to choose from in the game. These products are grouped into categories (all products are listed below).
Wholesale vs. Retail
* Wholesale (selling to other businesses) is done with the market, or by sending the goods directly with an invoice. The buyer is another player running their own business.
* Retail (selling to the public) is done in a Retail building that you own. The buyer is the public, represented by the game itself.
* Any product can be sold wholesale. Only certain products can be sold retail. The others are industrial goods, and the public doesn’t buy them.
Brands
Brand is a way to make your products unique from everyone else’s, and to make them more appealing to the public. You get to name your brand anything you like. Each brand has two components: Awareness and Reputation.
