Lord of Ages
  • Release Date:  2010/6/10
  • Publisher:  Raccoonx Technology
  • Genre:  Strategy
  • Rating :

Lord of Ages is a free massively-multiplayer strategy game with a “perfect” combo of Evony’s website’s look and Three Kingdoms Online’s System, plus with something original such as randomly dropped Legendary hero, Equipment and Wilderness Digging Rewards.

However some major parts like Three Factions or Kingdoms is nothing but running in the same groove. Even the background story is closely bound up with Evony. Following a set pattern is just like a doctor prepares a dose of medicine according to the prescibled recipe.

What the developers say:

We design this game with the philosophy that deliver high production value yet easy to play for the majority. So each detail design is to make it convenient to players with better game experience. For instance, pre-set map, shortcut buttons and queue up panel on the main interface. In this way, light users are able to experience the fun of SLG, including combat excitement, teamwork in alliance.

What we saw:

The Ingame Icon, Avatar, and pictures are not closely linked to the game’s background and even the official website’s cover page.  A free Chinese people roam around on the capital city with some weapons and tools equipped. A long and whole night creeps throughout the game. The first impression left me believe this game is something like Evony. Unfortunately, Lord of Ages, to some extent, looks like War of Legends, which is also a free to play browser strategy game developed in China.

What the players say:

To become a master of Lord of Ages, I will have to construct buildings, perform quests, do some research, and explore the wild spots. What impressed me is the game’s front-page, what left me down is the game’s graphics. I am not a big fans of Lord of Ages.

Final Worlds:

In the past 2 years, there have been tons of browser-based games hitting market, and more and more developers begin to follow the footsteps of Evony, from Caesary, Three Kingdoms, War of Legends, to Rock Age and Lord of Ages. No surprisingly, these games did little innovations to the market.
