Gladiatus is a continuously evolving massive online RPG game where you play as one of the many gladiators of Rome. There are many things to do in a world of Gladiatus. Stats
Your character comes with an array of different stats; Strength, Skill, Agility, Constitution and Charisma. The three skills which are taken into account during duels between other players and monsters are Strength, Agility and Charisma.
* Strength determines how hard your character deals damage. Strength is the most expensive stat to train, and isn’t necessarily the most important. It is possible to deal large amounts of damage by using powerful weapons while still having a very low strength level.
* Skill determines how accurate your attacks are. The higher the skill level, the more attacks hit the opponent, ultimately battles can be won by the underdog for the sole fact he/she has a high skill level.
* Agility determines how badly you are hit by an opponent. The higher the agility level, the less damage you’ll be likely to take. A high agility level allows players to spend less money on obtaining expensive and tough armour items.
* Constitution determines your HP level. Training this skill means you can add to your base combat level HP. This along with agility is the cheapest skill to train.
* Charisma determines the likelyhood of dealing two consecutive blows. The difference between your charisma level and your opponent’s determines this likeyhood. Charisma and skill cost the same to level up. Less than strength, but more than agility and constitution.
*Intelligence increases the healing value which only affects the dungeon battles
Arena
The arena is the place where players can make easy fortunes. If you attack and beat another player in your arena, you will raid around 10% of the gold the loser has on him/her. Regular members can only attack once every 15 minutes, but Centurions who pay the game developers only have to wait 5 minutes. You can progress up the arena rankings to the point you can challenge the current arena champion. Beating him/her means you win the jackpot for doing so and assume his/her rank. The jackpot’s value increases over time. Players who are being consistently attacked by the same individual say that they are being “farmed for gold”.
Armour, weapons, potions, powders and food
Gladiatus provides the player with a wide assortment of items to upgrade the character with. By gaining experience through quests and expeditions, players will be able to increase their characters overall level. Money given from rewards or taken by force in the arena helps players buy new weapons, armours and other items. The higher your character’s overall level, the more powerful items you will be able to purchase. Same applies with food which is used to replenish lost health.
Guilds
Upon reaching level 5, players can found their very own Guild. A place where you can join forces with others and seek glory together. The more money you donate to the Guild, the quicker the Guild master/admin can purchase upgrades and provide more room for new recruits. The basic Guild you will start off with can house 3 people. But by upgrading, you can steadily increase this number. The Guild master (founder) can create custom ranks and give them respective powers within the system. Guild descriptions are an optional feature, but a good description encourages others to join.
Guilds can also store special items known as recipes. These act much like potions, for a limited period of time (and depending on the level of the recipe), it will give a special stat boost to all Guild members. However this costs money to activate and powerful recipes absorb large amounts of Guild gold.
Auctions
The auction house is where items that the player cannot buy usually in shops are found. Players place bids on the respective items. If someone outbids you, you lose all the gold you placed on the item. If your bid manages to last out the time limit, you will receive the item. The auction building is a place where many players make enemies of each other, yet it remains to an extent, a more reliable place to get rare items than the regular market.
Marketplace
Here players can sell any item they want for any price they want. Items can be available in the marketplace for up to 24 hours depending on what the seller chooses as a time limit. Buyers can only see items that are within their total character level.
Quests and the tavern
Quests are a useful source of experience and gold. You can talk to the publican (bartender) and engage in either an Easy, Medium or Hard quest. The length of the assignment depends on the level of difficulty. Tasks range from killing specific creatures to talking to other NPC characters.
Expeditions
You don’t have to start a quest to go on an expedition. There are several areas which you can send your character to. The length of the expedition can be selected as 10 minutes, 20 minutes or even 30 minutes. The longer the quest, the more likely you’ll get a better reward. Centurions can go on the respective expeditions for half the allocated time span than regular players.
Dungeon
Since the v0.4 version, players can even explore in the dungeons! There are totally 9 dungeons in the game, 4 in town, and 5 in wild. And you can find the second NPC called “Guard” in the Tavern who gives out the quests need to be down in dungeons.
The players will have the option to equip their gladiator two times. One time is only for dungeons, the other is for fights against other players or expeditions. So the player won’t lose a battle with another player when he equipped his gladiator for healing at dungeons.
After fighting against all NPCs at the dungeon (and winning), they’ll have the chance to fight against final boss.
