planetstorm

Planetstorm  is a free-to-play, massively multiplayer, collectable card game which can be played asynchronously with your friends even if they are online at different times. Planetstorm is the first spinoff of the successful Warstorm collectable card game series. While Planetstorm maintains a familiar layout, the developers have created a universe that is unique in its game play. The military influence flows throughout the design whether cards are infantry, armor, aircraft or even structures which can be strategically used for cover or offense. Players can complete missions and challenges to acquire rewards, or they can buy in-game currency to purchase new card packs. Developers have added new daily missions which can reward a player for specific tasks.

Cards
Each game card represents a part of your army. Most game cards are different kinds of warriors and creatures, but they can also be useful objects or spells. At the beginning of each battle, the squads of game cards that you have chosen are shuffled into a deck and used to play the game.

Card Types
There are four types of cards:
1. 1. Leaders are in charge of your squad. The symbols in the upper right corner of the leader’s card determine how many units, equipment cards and tactic cards can be in the squad.
2. 2. Units make up the majority of your squad. Each unit and leader is classified as one of four types:
* — Infantry — Ground-pounding footsoldiers.
* — Armor — Tanks and other ground vehicles (including some that hover).
* — Air — Vehicles and robots that spend most of their fighting time in flight.
* — Structures — Buildings, ruins, trenches and other stationary installations.
3. 3. Equipment provides special abilities to units. Each equipment card is attached to a unit when it comes into play.
4. 4. Tactics trigger a special ability effect when they come into play, and are then discarded to the Graveyard.

Squads
A squad is a set of seven game cards that can be added for your army for a challenge. You can build up to sixteen squads at a time, but you may not be able to play all your squads at once. The number of squads you can send is limited by your level. If you are attacked by another player, or attack an NPC, you are limited to the number of squads sent into battle by that player or NPC.

Finding an Opponent
There are many ways to find opponents in Planetstorm . You can challenge NPCs, challenge other players, and even ask the game to set up a match for you!

* Challenging an NPC – As you explore the world of Planetstorm , you will receive a series of missions to challenge NPC armies.
* Challenging a Player – To challenge another player, go to the Battlegrounds and find online players in the Find a Fight box.
* Auto-Matching – Auto-matching is one of the fastest ways to find an opponent. Click “Enter” in the Ladder Auto-Match box, then choose the squads you want to use. The game will search for an opponent and let you know when the match is ready for you to watch.

Fighting a Challenge
When a challenge begins, the cards in each player’s army are shuffled and placed in the Reserve. One player is randomly chosen to go first. Players alternate turns, with each player drawing cards, putting cards into play and attacking during his or her own turn.

Each player draws one card on his or her turn, which is placed in the Card Hand with a number of counters equal to its Ready rating. One counter is removed from each card in both players’ Card Hands at the beginning of each turn. When there are no more counters on a card, that card is moved into the Battle Area and is ready to attack.

Units in the Battle Area line up in descending order of the time spent in play, with the units that have been in play the longest on the left side of the Battle Area. When a unit attacks, it does damage to the opponent’s unit that is directly across from it. If there is no opponent’s unit directly across from the attacking unit, the attacking unit does damage to the enemy army’s overall Morale. When a player’s army has 0 Morale, that player’s army is defeated.

Some special abilities do damage or inflict effects on enemy units that are not directly across from the unit with the special ability. These special abilities never affect the overall Morale of the opponent’s army.
