Karlsruhe– The Audemars Piguet ‘Changing Times’ Award of 2009 goes to Gameforge, the world’s largest independent developer and publisher of browser-and client-based online games. The Karlsruhe-based company gameforge met all requirements and finnally became the European Technology Entrepreneur of the Year 2009 “. Gameforge CEO and co-founder Klaas Kersting received the award yesterday evening at a gala event in Geneva. Since 2006, Audemars Piguet will award the prize to the company that had a maximum impact in a very short time on the greatest number of people. This year alone, over 180 applications were submitted,, but GameForge stood out.
“We are very proud that we were able to assert ourselves against a great number of competitors. The award is a reaffirmation of the hard work of the whole team. The prestigious panel of ‘Audemars Piguet’ Changing Times’ European Technology Entrepreneur of the Year Award is made up of representatives from Google, Good Energies, European Tech Tour Association (ETT), Wellington Partners, Sofinnova, Go4Venture, Partech, Accel Partners, Index Ventures, Balderton Capital and North Zone ventures together. The candidates had to be in a position, track record within the last three years an annual growth rate of at least 50 percent. The company was allowed to be no older than ten years and must obtain their income from several countries. Preference was also companies with management and founders europastämmigem leadership.
