Mobile Browser Games Bring More Elements to Mobile Social Networks

What is the first thing you do when joining a new mobile social network? Play browser games with other people! itsmy.com, one of the largest pure mobile social networks in the world, discovered that almost 55% of all Newbies registered between Mid July and Mid August 2009 started their mobile social networking experience by playing games with other users. And these are quite a few! The average gamer on itsmy.com has 21 opponents per game and he or she plays three to five games simultaneously.

Social gaming is one of the most favourite activities in mobile social networks. 96% of all itsmy.com users play mobile social games.

51% of them play against whoever is online and 61% already made new friends while playing.

6 of the Top 10 Players on itsmy.com in July were women. Entering the Top 10 is a tough challenge as you have to play a minimum of 10,000 mini games in a couple of weeks.
Antonio Vince Staybl, CEO itsmy.com says “We’ve seen an astonishing development in the last months as social gaming is a universal remedy for all kind of needs you may have: You are bored or lonely? You have two minutes before the next bus is coming? Or you just want to stay in touch with friends but don’t know what to write apart from the common weather remark? – Play a game with your mobile phone, that’s an easy, helpful and already established solution!”

Sabine Irrgang, COO itsmy.com adds “Our users love playing browser games with their mobile phones because it’s the first time everybody can play against everyone, without any application download, whenever and wherever they want. The mobile phone will absolutely dominate browser games in the future.”
