New ‘EverQuest’ expansions announced

Sony Online Entertainment has confirmed that it will release two new expansion packs for its popular multiplayer online series EverQuest.

According to BigDownload, Everquest: Underfoot will be released this November. This will be the game’s sixteenth commercial expansion, offering players an underground realm to explore and new enemies to battle.

Everquest II: Sentinel’s Fate is the sixth expansion pack for the MMO’s sequel. It will retail in February next year, extending the game’s level cap from 80 to 90.

EverQuest went live in 1999, followed by its sequel in 2004. Sony has not released official subscription figures for the title in recent years, leaving estimates to third parties.

The series is thought to have somewhere in the region of 500,000 users.
