Zombie Pandemic Is Now Available

Today I received an subscription email for Zombie Pandemic Team:

Early this year you signed up to be alerted when the free browser game Zombie Pandemic was available to play.

We are finally about to go into open beta. However as you have signed to be among the very first, you can start playing it right now. Simply copy this URL in your browser to create a player account and start playing:

As you probably remember Zombie Pandemic is a free browser based and massive multiplayer role playing game (a MMORPG PBBG). You are a survivor in a zombie infested city and must fight to survive making it to one of the safe houses while battling zombies, solving quests and helping save other players.

The game is set in an apocalyptic world where civilization is in chaos. The aim of the game is to explore the city, help other survivors and solve quests while trying to uncover the truth concerning the pandemic.

Here are a few useful starting tips:

* This is a survival horror game. Don’t engage higher level opponents unless you can surely win.
* Start exploring the locations on the map. There a several hundred but you need to find them first.
* Locate valuable items and weapons by “investigating” the locations.
* Find shops where you can trade items. There are several hidden across the map.
* Use the different training facilities to improve your skills.
* Use the “character” in the menu for your character sheet to upgrade your skills and handle your inventory.

Getting started:

You got a quest which is to inspect the address where you used to live. Click on the map and then travel to the location indicated by a yellow marker.

When you arrive at the location. Click the quest tab to complete the task.

What to look for in the beta test

Since last time:

# We added a rest function. By resting you can regain your strength by trading Stamina (Sta) for HP. Remember you can also eat food or use stim packs to regain health.

# We added items which boost your energy. Try out the energy bar of caffeine pills to get extra AP. They are expensive but you can get the pills at the sick bay.

# We added several of the new pictures to the locations. Try to check out Saviours Church (outside) at 39|36 and Old Warehouse (outside) at 41|29, We need a lot of pictures for other locations – so contributions are welcome.

# There a quite a few places with bricks and rocks lying around. These items can be free and effective weapons as thrown objects.

# We added a couple of new shops with several new weapons available but right now you have to find them your self:-)

# Add your forum name to your player settings if you like (more fun with discussions in the forum)

# There are currently 3 quest shops in the game. The College Campus, Religious Clan and Mercy Hospital.

General instructions:

As a beta tester you could::

1) Fool around trying to provoke errors then report them to development team

2) Locate design and spelling errors and…. yes report them so we can correct them

3) Provide overall input and ideas.

4) Help the game storytelling. If you feel the description of a location, a quest or even what a non playable character in the game is saying should be different? Then let us know what it should be

How do I provide input?

Simply click the yellow beta button and use the form. Remember to provide your input as organized and easily accessible as possible. Fill out an form for each issue. Include the URL to the page your are adressing with a clear description of the problem you encountered or feature you would like implemented.
Closed Beta Testing?

Zombie Pandemic is currently in closed beta. This means that game isn’t done yet and there are still a lot of game features, fixes and other stuff which haven’t been made availableyet.

Closed beta
Means that the game is still in early development phase and that this test version isn’t currently available to the public but only to a few selected people. As one of the few who been offered to be part of the closed beta we kindly ask you to keep it that way for now.

Next step will be an open beta (that is a test version available to the public) and then a actual release.

Terms & conditons of helping as beta tester

Unfortunately we can’t offer any sort of payment for the beta testing. Being beta tester is a voluntary task to help the game. We work for free in order to provide a game which is for free. However if you like you can use the project for reference and we will be happy to list your name in the credit list for the beta testing. By sumbitting ideas and suggestions to the project you allow Zombie Pandemic to actually use these.
