Mission Against Terror (MAT) is a first-person shooter (FPS) game developed by Kingsoft, China. MAT offers an exciting online game Real Gun-Pking tournament. By integrating aspects of traditional Chinese culture with active game play, Mission Against Terror provides an exciting local elements for Asia and for worldwide players. Beyond the key elements of an FPS game, Mission Against Terror also boasts sophisticated modern weapons, carefully devised maps, diversified gaming modes, and personalized armor and equipment. All these aspects create fun new Warfare themes and experiences for you.

Create Character

If you are first time into this game, just enter into the Create Character interface after logged in, you can solely create one character and that is unable to be removed after establishment.
First of all, insert your favorite role name at the top right of the screen, then choose the gender of your role, then select your geographical information. A model military uniform, which allocated at the left screen, will be gifted freely to you once you have created your role successfully. As shown in the following figure:

Login Server Selection

In this interface, you can left-click to select a server, press “confirm” button and proceed to next step, or double-click of your left mouse to access a server directly. As shown in the following figure:

Newbie Protection Function, first-time game player would be prompted a pop-out box, reminding that the player whose grade is below Gr-3 soldier can only enter into Newbie Server. Click OK to close the pop-up box, and return to the server selection interface.

Login Channel Selection

Choose a suitable channel from the server selection interface, left-click to select a suitable channel, press “confirm” button to enter to next step, single-click the left mouse to enter a channel directly, as shown in the following figure:

Lobby Interface

For the first-time newbie players, a friendly reminder would be given to you by recommending a training session after entering into the game lobby, a friendly reminder to recommend entering into personal warehouse, you can become more familiar with the operation of the game by following the appropriate operations from the tips given.

Game Interface

After entering into the selected room, the game interface is showing ‘waiting’ status. Bottom of the left panel is Chat Room, and the bottom of the right panel is Room Information, which includes Room Name, Game Modes, Special Weapons, and the selection to open the game maps, revive time, time limit, the killing times and other information.

Preparation / Join the game
Before the game start, all players (except host) must click “Ready” button to get ready, after make sure that players of the both sides are equal, host of the room can click on the “Start Game” button to start the game. Your entrance into the room indicates the game is in progress, players can click on “Quick Join” button to join the game instantly during the game is running.

Room Settings
Click on “Room Settings” button, host may set the room name and password, game maps, game modes, revive time, the limit of killing times, time limit and other parameters, you can also choose to open or close the special weapons, open or close the equal number of players, cancel or allow Quick Join feature.

Invitation
Click the “Invite” button and a pop-up dialog box will appear, to invite the player from the lobby into the game.

Basic Operations

Join the Game

In the area of Multi Players, you will see a list of rooms. To search for suitable rooms according to various details, just click on the top menu buttons stated with Room ID, Room Name, Map Name, Mode, Population, Status, and so on, then the table will sort the details consequently, according to the selected stat.
After entering into room, just double-click the name of a room, or click on the name of room then click “Join Room” button to enter the room. Or, press “Quick Join” to let the built-in system find out the most suitable room for you.
** Note: The room name with a lock indicates the room is password-protected. You have to input the correct password to enter the room.

Create Game Room

Click “Create Game Room” to enter into the Basic Setting interface, you will access to some functions such as Mode Selection, Map Selection, Max Population Setting, Recovery Time Setting, Clear Max Value Setting, Max Time Setting, etc. Players need to put attention on issues such as: The Room Name section should not left blank; Tick the Quick Join box to allow other player to join while the game is running. Choose the Balanced Population so that the game will only start after the population of both parties reached the same. In Individual Mode, the Clear Max Value Setting is not available. In Ghost Mode and Competition Mode, the Recovery Time cannot be set. Select ‘Training Mode’ then clicks Confirm, and then you will directly enter into Training Camp without having go through waiting room.

Search
Click “Search” to access the Search Interface, this interface can let you search for player or room.

Create Chatroom

Click on “Create Chatroom” to enter the Chatroom Setting interface, you can set the Room Name (cannot leave as blank), and set the Room Password and Max Population. After setting, click the confirm button to enter the Chatroom directly.

Interaction

1. Chat
In the Lobby interface, there are 2 sections at the bottom left pane which indicate the Interaction Function in the game. You can type the dialogue into the bottom pane. The General Chat Channel shows all public dialogues, while Personal Chat channel will only show the dialogues of player who joined the personal chat. You can choose anyone in the player list to go on Personal Chat, right-click the player’s nickname and then choose “Personal Chat”.
2. Friends & Blacklist
If you click on ‘View Info’ of other players, you can directly click on “Add as Friend” and “Add to Blacklist” button to perform functions of Friend list and Blacklist, you can also click “Play Together” to invite him for joining a game together.
3. Trumpet
Click the Trumpet icon 1 at the bottom to let all players from the whole server or whole area to hear what you said and expressed! You just have to buy a Trumpet at the Item Mall to enjoy features of this useful item!

In the chatting process, you can click on 3 icon anytime to open the emoticon list and choose a suitable emoticon:

Personal Info

The right-bottom pane in the lobby shows the Personal Info, including Nickname, ID, Level, Units of Eliminate/Sacrificed, Ratio of Eliminate/Sacrificed, Experience Point, and Wealth:

Click button, then you can have a detailed view on the personal basic information and technical information.

Press ‘F1′ to view a clear and complete HELP menu, as below:

HUD Settings

1. Team Results: Display your team color, and at the same time, display the current result and total result of both parties. The red and blue sections which are located at the bottom part of Team Result section, are displaying the current population of both parties, and also the status of lives and deaths (this function is only available in Ghost Mode).
2. Radar: Click “Settings” > “Game”, and then select “Rotate background” or “Rotate viewing angle” to observe the battlefield map. The A point, B point on the radar indicates Ambush Points.
3. HP: Indicate your survival status in the game, the default value is 100, and the display is in white color. As you attacked by rival in the game, the HP will reduce. And when the HP reduced to 30, it will be indicated as red color, and if dropped to 0, means you died!
4. Cartridge: Showing the quantity of bullets and cartridges of your current weapon.

Press ‘ESC’: System Menu
Press ‘ESC’ key to open the system menu, in order to perform basic operations such as switching weapon, change game settings, etc.

Switch Weapon: You can switch your current weapon at anytime in MAT game. Default setting is pressing “N” to open the spare space of Primary Weapon. You can left-click one weapon and choose “Change Weapon after revived” then click confirm, next time, after your resurrection, you will be offered the option to use your selected weapon. If you choose

“Revive and Change Weapon immediately” then click confirm, you will be sacrificed immediately and found your selected weapon on your hand as you revived.

Game Modes

Mummy Mode
Players can experience the horrors of life and death: friends who fight with you side by side suddenly defeated by the mummy, and have been infected by the virus and become the new Mummy. In front of Mummy who has strong physical and infectious power, you may feel your whole body fatigue, your hands that hold gun are slightly trembling….. Will you become the only one who can save this world?

Team Recovery
The winner has to take the lead by achieving the maximum number of the elimination of the camp in a specified time; Besides, team will be awarded as victory if the level of the elimination of camp is higher than others in the allocated time, otherwise the match will be judged as draw. Both players can do recovery repeatly until the end of the battle.

Competition Mode
Player takes the lead while the entire rival camp has been completely eliminated in the single game. Before the end of a single round, player cannot do recovery. Victory of player is based on the number of the elimination of camp.

Individual Recovery
Player who competes individually will be ranked based on the number of the elimination in a specified time. Player can do recovery for multiple times till the end of the battle.

Ghost Mode
The mission of Red team is to explode the target, while Blue team is to prevent station from being blasted. The winner goes to the team which has got the mission accomplished. Players from both teams could not do recovery. Red team can make themselves become invisible, but can only use near-distance weapon.

Chatroom Mode
Non-competition mode. Players can release themselves from stress and tension through some fun and interactive activities, like chatting and mini-games.

System Settings

Press the ‘Settings’ button,to enter the system setup interface. The Settings menu is classified into four aspects of personality and adjustments. As the adjustments completed, first press the “OK” button to save changes, and then click “OK” button again to leave this section.
To restore the default settings, simply press the “Restore Defaults” button to perform auto-restore. If you do not want to make changes to the default settings and adjustments, press the “Cancel” button to leave the interface.

Operation settings: The Mouse Control settings and shortcut keys can be adjusted. Mouse Control means to control the degree of viewing by mouse in the game scenes; ‘Reverse’ the mouse cursor, means the degree of viewing and the cursor movement are in opposite way.

Video and Audio Settings: You can control the volume of music, sound effects and switches. The environment refers to the in-game scenes and sound surrounding effects. You can freely set the image quality (resolution, color quality, filtering, level detail), and also the screen brightness. The display of game can be in full screen or windows mode.

1. Color quality: Control the colors of the screen displays.
2. Filtering: Show the real extent value by control the viewing on the screen
3. Level detail: Control the screen display and the details of levels.
4. Vertical sync: Can make images look smooth and display in stable streams.
5. Tri-Linear Filtering: Reduce the differences in combinations of grades (occurs when the combination of textures overlaps).
6. Display controls: To display the shadow effects in your game.

Personal settings: You can change your personal options and the radar gun display mode. Just choose the most comfortable usage that suits you the most. Explosion effects and the Help interface can be controlled by switching between Open and Close options.

Quick Chat Settings: You can use shortcut keys to highlight the chat content that often chat on, you also can chat in game lobby or use fast speaking function in whole game by using shortcut keys. As the following figure:
