empire

Empire Craft is a browser-based SLG game which is easy to login by its characteristic. My PC isn’t of a high-end configuration, but on such a platform I can easily login and play while another 15 windows were opening, so it is very suitable to the office workers who want to relax themselves from all day long typing and listing. The main content of this game are enclosure, arms expansion, cities occupation and territory seizing. It’s strong in strategy and could be called a mind war online.

World view:

Fantasy is one of the main themes of interactive games all over the world, and the Empire Crafts’ background story is based on that: “All sins came from the Magic Crystal’s tremendous power while the endless greed lures the human to fall. Finally the war was launched and hence stated the catastrophe in the Dark Millennium. The dwarfs, the humans stand in line with the Orcs toward the demon race while small-scaled conflicts which involve each other’s interests occur among them. The complex world view of fantasy is easy to suck the players into the eddy of time to the war zone of the Dark Millennium.”

Graphics:

Players often neglect the visual effect of the browser-based games. Rough texture, boring story and every thing literal are the players’ impression on such kind of game. I used to think this “Craft” thing is no way out the circle, but the designing ability of Oak Pacific Interactive and its serious attitude to the web-game touched me very much. The developer is worthy for the name of a major market player which developed the Cat Travels, the Double Strange Tale and a few other successful web-games. The OPI has used its profound designing foundation in designing the Empire Crafts. The vivid textures truly display the manors, farm lands and deserts in the western fantasy world. The static graphics are also breathing. I love the dwarf’s building style the most. The plain dwelling dwarfs decorate their residence with the green plants here and there, and even the ponderous battlements are covered with branches and leaves. What a comfort!

Game Systems

Operation system

Web-games are faced to the players who want to have an easy time, and they are mostly the office workers, so the operation must be simple. The city building, the army dispatching are simplified as a few mouse clicks. Of course, if you are a web-game master who develops seven or eight cities at the same time, there would be a lot of clicking. I’d glad to see the Empire Crafts’ brief and clear newbie tutorials, and the arrow indicates are clear too see. That means I can follow the little arrow to do all the operations while documents writing.

Task system

Although the Empire Craft is a strategy game, it has a perfect system which really astonished me. Tasks in the game can be sorted as newbie tasks, development tasks and union tasks. By completing those tasks, the players could receive different rewards. The newbie tasks are just like the simplified walkthrough. Since I’m not a game fanatic, easy understanding is important to me, as I could study how to upgrade the mines, buy special items step by step; the development tasks are like the daily tasks in the MMORPG games. The rewards are keys to the chests. It’s cool to get those money costs items for free by this way; the union tasks provide chances for the union members to show off their wealth.

Battle system

Each of the three races in the Empire Craft has special characterized arms, while building an army, the player must considerate the balance between aggression and defense. If you neglect this balance, your fighting power won’t be able to effect once encountered the nemesis of a certain arm. I had such an experience that my 800 soldiers were beaten by 700 enemy forces. Firstly I take it as a bug, but then it proved my ignorance and I could only go back to check the profiles of different arms. Such setting would definitely suck the player deeper into the game, and pay time to think about the whole campaign planning which includes scouting, analyzing and the dispatching of heroes and armies.

Hero system

Besides the army building, the hero system is necessary as leaders in a battle are in need after all. All the three races in the game have both male and female heroes. All kinds of heroes can be found in bars in the main cities. Every newly hired hero is grade 1 at first. Based on the heroes’ basic points, qualifications and features, they can be sorted into white, green, blue and purple hierarchies with the purple heroes are the best. Theoretically, after the first hero upgrades to 10 grades, 7 heroes could be refreshed out, but the newbie should better give up this idea, because the resources consumption is horrible as it is enough to build a few cities. Generally, 3 heroes are enough. It’s not surprising to have hero setting in this game but the next system is really unique.

Arena system

Actually, this system should be taken as a subsystem under the hero system. But for its uniqueness in the strategy game, I intentionally list it out. Heroes beyond 10 grades can have a try in the arena. There is a grade balance settings, which cadets won’t be suppressed by the veterans. So to win or to lose is decided by the hero’s equipment and qualifications. How to get that shinny equips? Rob them! What’s more, your heroes would pick up a fight with random challenger while you are not logged in. So this system forces you to fight, if you do not challenge others, you’d be passive and beaten black and blue.

Conclusion

After 3 weeks of experiencing, the writer judges the Empire Craft a very nice browser-based SLG game. The fantasy world view, sophisticated visual facts and the unique arena system, all these characteristics let the Empire Craft stand out from the liking products in the web-game industry. As I know, the game is going to load a chatting system, which would certainly make the game more user-friendly. I believe the Empire Craft shall survive in the market competition and enjoy a nice prospect.

I have played empire craft since it came out, the union system is the best! You do not have to spend hours on it, I log on just a few min. a day! It gets better every week! The sign up sheet takes just a second! You can play in 12 different servers under one acount! It is the best BBMMO I have ever played!

In the spirit of addictive games like mafia wars as well as the old bbs door kingdom games, this game is top. I just started playing this week and am pleasantly happy with the game. You can spend 5 minutes on it or leave it open for hours, it’s a great distraction game like window’s mah jhong (sp) and solitare.

    Pro’s: Fast starting/kingdom developement.
Good quest system, especially the noob quests.
Union/guild system is seamless. Reminds me of falcon’s eye bbs door game.
Any PC can access the game, even a slow internet connection isn’t noticable.
Hero’s are a nice addition to your army and cheap to get.
    Walkthrough is easy

Con’s USD for extra items are a bit pricey for me, but you can easily manage with out utilizing the
    service.

Like I said before, if you enjoy mafia wars or the old bbs door games this is a perfect game for you. I deem it my new time waster while at work :) Check it out, it’s free to play what can you lose. Just put the address in your url bar and load.

My name is lord Hunter in the game, I have been playing a bit and I love it. You rank up, you do quests, and it is a strategy game, my kind of game. In 5 days I have almost 200 population. Population gives you titles, and money each day. There is only one flaw, that you have to buy more diamonds. Other than that it is awsome. I would reconmend this to a friend…well I have. If you like Tribal wars, travian, or Ikariam, then you will love this.

Have you ever sat around and wondered, what’s a fun game I can play that doesn’t end or get boring after 2 or 3 weeks of playing? Well Empire Craft has the answers to all your questions and more. You get to play as the Orcs, Humans, or Dwarves in a land filled with monsters, towns, and goods to be found. As with any game, you begin a modest town building up in strength and recruiting some random nobody from a tavern or bar. With time, you begin to see the small town slowly form into a city as people become more efficient, there are more people around, and trade becomes a common aspect of life. You then notice there is a place where you can sign up to enlist with others to join the same cause, a union. Upon joining a union you are putting yourself well ahead of anyone foolish enough to not join one as a group that is united can conquer any 1 army given the time and effort. All of this occurs over days so you don’t have to sit here and play 24/7 unless you really want to. The leisure aspect of empire craft allows for players to play at their own pace and when they have the time. Don’t worry if you feel others might come in and destroy you, as the game provides many methods of protecting new players and even provides storage for goods if you feel they will be lost.
After a week of playing you will find yourself in a populated city filled with many things to do and look at. By now your drunken hero has become someone of modest value that the town looks upon with a smile. Soon this hero will become your everything as he or she will be unstoppable. When the first week passes you enter the real game as protection ceases to exist and protect your empire. Now the real fun begins as you conquer opponents and plunder goods. All the while there are devils, mermans, and harpy’s presenting themselves as threats to everyone. Do you take out other people or do you focus on these 3 abominations which plague your world, that’s up to you to decide. The best part of this game, is the length as the game goes on forever as of right now! That’s right, you can create a glorious city, army, and rule with the best of them. And don’t think 1 city is all you get, after you expand enough you can control up to 5 cities at once!!! Think of all the power that comes from such an aspect. So, if you are looking for a game to play that will bring about fun, friendship, glory, and a little bit of bragging… come to empire craft today! You will not be disappointed in all it has to offer.

Empire Craft is a free to play MMO based around city construction and siege. Most of the people that I know who play Empire Craft treat it as a method to kill time when they have found the end of the internet. The game uses just your web browser and no flash making it easy to play at locations such as work or hotels. The game has an active community and forums. In addition you are able to talk in a chat channel with your union (this game’s version of guilds / clans).
At the core of the game is city construction. In Empire Craft you start off with a single city that has construction plots and resource plots. The beginning quests will walk you through the creation of a cookie cutter city. Your city can construct buildings to make troops, make troops stronger, make troops faster and store troops. You can make buildings to recruit and attract heroes (they lead your armies), stores to outfit your heroes with items and buildings to help recover your heroes health and even cure them when they fall.
There are buildings to make siege equipment, store resources and grain, and trade on the market. You can build buildings to expand your food production, farms, mines, quarries and mills. Even more buildings to recover lost soldiers, statues to reduce the effects of occupation, safe havens for your troops and resources during occupation, and espionage centers.
The buildings follow the leveling scheme where when you first make a building it costs few resources and takes little time to build. Each level raises the required resources and the time to build. High level buildings can take weeks to build where low level buildings can take minutes. If you have played the game EVE then you know what I’m talking about. This type of time / resource scheme for the levels makes it easy for new players to become competitive while giving long time players a challenge for managing their resources.

I Think the game is fun, but i think the price for diamonds seems a lil overpriced, for 10$ i could barely get anything good, i think they should lower the price for diamonds a lil bit
